He began his career in the US Army in 1988. In 1996, he graduated North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor's in Nursing. He worked with the United States Public Health Service, beginning as an RN, but quickly rising through the ranks to become a Nurse Manager, then Chief Nurse of the Rapid Deployment Team, and lastly a Mental Health Nurse Manager that served a 300 bed in-patient unit. He served as a Commissioned Officer under USPHS and returned to Nova SE University of Davie, Florida in 2017 to receive his Master's in Health Sciences & Health Law.

Leaving public service in 2021, he began his journey to become a psychaitric nurse practitioner. He obtained his Masters for PMHNP from Waldern University of MN and began as a student practioner in the federal prisons of Butner, NC. He also worked in Youth Unlimited in High Point, NC at the same time.

In 2021, he left Butner to join a geriatric psychaitric clinic in Durham called Senior Health & Adult Education Partners. He worked in Chapel Hill at Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for a year as well. He retired from both positions to persue his own clinic in Wake Forest with the belief that everyone deserves the time and patience to heal and become the most resilient version of themselves.
